Spotting at Detroit airside is possible, but you need to find the right spot. The terminal ahs a lot of huge glass windows. Unfortunately, they are all covered with a dot pattern. Those windows can not be used for photography. The only windows I found that do not have these dots are between gate A76 and A78.
